In commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, our mighty In His Shoes group fasted for over 30 hours to raise money and awareness for the Syrian Refugee Crisis. In those 30 hours, we connected with our friends in Artzakh and learned about landmine clearance through Halo Trust; discussed the Armenian Genocide and Syrian genocide and our responsibility as Christians/Survivors; made prayer beads while enjoying fellowship with one another; connected with our brothers and sisters in Chad – Darfur genocide survivors. Our fast ended with Holy Communion. It was an emotional and beautiful weekend for all.
The payoff of our efforts? We’ve raised well over $5,000 which will be directed to the children and refugee crisis in Syria through World Vision. We are still accepting donations for the 30 hour fast. Go to http://inhisshoes.org/100-souls-in-his-shoes/ and click on the donate button to give. And THANK YOU to all of our donors and sponsors. We are only successful in our efforts because of your tremendous support.
